The Citizenry Linen Sheets Review

    Linen-Sheets

Here I’m taking a look at a Linen Bedding Bundle from The Citizenry.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard a lot of great things about this brand. I’m extra excited to see what it’s all about, tell you everything there is to know about these sheets.

    Let’s dive into these sheets.

    Overview

I’ve got Linen Bedding Bundle on the bed right now.

I’m just going to come right out and say it, I’m in love with this bedding. Before I can even talk about how it feels, just have to acknowledge how beautiful it is.

It does come in a wide range of color options, but I’ve got the slate blue that’s complementing the graphite stripe. It’s a very pretty aesthetic.

My favorite thing has got to be how super soft and smooth it is.

As some of you probably already know, linen is known for its distinctly coarse texture, but this has got to be some of the softest linen I’ve ever felt.

Let’s take a closer look at what exactly it’s made of.

    Materials

This bedding is made from 100 percent linen, which is one of the world’s oldest and most beloved textiles, because it’s got a reputation for being very durable, super breathable, and also has this distinctly coarse texture.

That said, I will tell you that this is some of the softest linen I’ve ever tested. I’ll talk more about why that is in a moment.

Also keep in mind that linen is derived from natural flax fibers, which makes this material a good ecofriendly option.

The Citizenry sources its flax exclusively from France.

It’s also worth noting that this bedding is woven in one of Portugal’s oldest family-run linen mills called the Machado Linen Mill.

If you’re someone who likes to know where their sheets come from, it might be worth looking into that.

That said, my favorite thing about this linen bedding is that every piece in this bundle has been individually stonewashed, which is a textile manufacturing technique essentially used to cut through that coarse texture and really boost the smooth feel.

That’s why this is some of the softest linen that I’ve ever felt.

Stonewashing also gives the fabric this casually lived-in rustic aesthetic that I know many sleepers, myself included, look for with linen bedding.

    What You Get?

With a full sheet set, you get one fitted sheet, one top sheet, and two pillowcases.

You can opt for the bedding bundle, which is what I’ve done, which comes with that full sheet set, but also two additional pillow cases and a duvet cover.

There are a wide variety of colors from which to choose.

The folks at Citizenry say that the colors are intended to be mixed and match. That’s what I’ve done, got the graphite stripe and the slate blue, which I have to say complement each other very nicely.

Now that we’ve taken a close look at these sheets, let’s go ahead and recap the highlights, so you can get a better sense about whether or not it’s the right fit for you.

    Pros

There is a lot to like about this linen.

First of all, it is definitely some of the softest linen I’ve ever felt. If you’re someone who shies away from linen because you’re scared it’s going to be too scratchy, a little bit too rough, I heartily recommend you give this linen a try.

The stonewash process is really cutting through that coarse feel and makes it feel super buttery smooth.

Another thing to consider is that while linen is notorious for how breathable it is, how perfect for summertime it is, keep in mind that linen is thermoregulating, meaning it adapts to your body’s temperature. This linen is definitely going to be great for year-round use, which in my opinion gives you great bang for your buck.

Something else that I love about this set is that it comes in a wide range of beautiful colors, all of which are designed to mix and match.

Like I’ve said, I’ve got the graphite stripe that’s complementing the slate blue.

They’re a beautiful color combination, but there’s a ton of options from which to choose, so get creative.

Lastly, those of you with taller mattresses are probably going to be most compatible with the set because the fitted sheet comes with super deep pockets of 15 inches deep.

In my experience, they could fit a little bit bigger than that, and even fit mattresses up to 16 or 17 inches deep.

    Cons

As far as potential pitfalls are concerned, it’s really hard for me to come up with any as far as craftsmanship goes.

This is definitely beautifully-made luxury linen.

However, there are some things to consider.

    First of all, price.

The Bedding Bundles start at about $400, and the sheet sets themselves start at about $250. This is definitely luxury linen that comes with a luxury price tag.

Keep in mind that linen like this is high quality. It’s 100 percent pure, and it’s designed to only get softer as the years go by.

High quality linen like this can definitely take you through years of use.

It is also worth noting that no trial period is offered with this bedding, which basically eliminates the chance to try before you buy.

You do get a 30-day return policy, but keep in mind that in order to return it, it must be unused, unwashed, and in its original packaging.
