Soft Memory Foam Pillow – TEMPUR-Cloud Review

    TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow

    Here I’m reviewing a very good pillow. It’s the TEMPUR-Cloud from TEMPUR-Pedic.

Familiar TEMPUR-Pedic, they use their TEMPUR material, really nice, soft memory foam. This pillow is no different.

There’s a big chunk of memory foam in it, but it’s extra soft, which makes it a pretty good fit for some specific sleep positions.

They say that it’s made for everyone, but is it right for you?

If you’re ready to learn more about the pillow, keep reading.

    Key Features

best pillow for stomach and back sleepers

Tempur-Pedic has been a leader in the bedding industry for nearly three decades.

Their brand helped popularize memory foam as a mattress and pillow material.

The TEMPUR-Cloud pillow from TEMPUR-Pedic is one of those most popular pillows.

It’s got this really nice polyester textured outer cover and a zipper on the side that lets you remove the cover and machine wash and dry. There are care instructions on the tag inside.

The inner filling is a solid piece of TEMPUR material, which is basically memory foam. It’s really nice, just standard piece of memory foam but it’s extra soft. It’s very slow to respond.

You can tell, just pressing down takes a long time to get it back in its form, which means it’s going to be super contouring, super pressure relieving, but your head’s definitely going to sink in pretty far.

You can’t clean the inner filling, you can clean the outer filling.

The Cloud has a traditional flat rectangular design. It just comes in one size. It’s 24 inches long, 15.75 inches wide and 5 inches tall. It weighs just over three pounds.

Again, remember, it’s very soft. Your head’s definitely going to sink down pretty far.

It’s $75 at full price. It does come with a five-year limited warranty, but TEMPUR-Pedic does not allow returns.

    Pros

Let me tell you what I like about the TEMPUR-Cloud pillow, starting with its outer cover.

It’s that soft polyester that I talked about. It’s got this cool zipper on the side that lets you remove the cover and care for it. Care instructions are provided. It’s really easy to take care of that outer cover and keep it clean.

I love the extra soft memory foam feel. If you’re a memory foam fan, you like sinking your head in, you’re going to get a lot of good contouring, a lot of good pressure relief with this pillow.

I also really like that compared to some other TEMPUR-Pedic pillows, this is on a little bit more affordable side. It’s $75 full price. We know they can go well above $100.

    Cons

Here are some considerations for you before you get this pillow, just some things to think about.

First of all, the inner core is a solid piece of memory foam that’s not ventilated. There’s no added cooling features on the outer fabric. Just know that it can sleep a little bit hot. It’s not going to breathe as well as some other options. I personally did get a little bit of hot with this pillow.

I just wanted you to know that, especially if you’re somebody who tends to sleep hot naturally.

The slow response can make it difficult for combination sleepers who change positions throughout the night. Combination sleepers will find that when they press into one part of the pillow, if they roll to another, it would take quite awhile for it to move over.

But if you’re not a combination sleeper, and you don’t roll around that much, it might be a good option for you.

Like most foam pillows, the Cloud is very mold-able, though it doesn’t bunch well, so it may be less ideal for pillow huggers and snugglers.

It does only come in one size so it might be a little bit small for the big person.

Of course, TEMPUR-Pedic does not allow you to have any returns on the pillow, no trial period.

It is a little bit more of a risk as an investment because you cannot return it.

Last, but not least, I’m going to go over more about the sleeping positions in the next section, but this one is on the flatter, softer foam side. If you’re someone who wants a lot of height or a lot of support, this pillow may not be the best fit.

    Sleeping Positions

    TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow

Let’s talk about the best sleeping positions for the TEMPUR-Cloud.

They do say that it’s going to be good for all sleep positions. My personal opinion is that it’s really going to be best suited for back and stomach sleepers.

I say that because this is a solid piece of memory foam and five inches in height, but it’s very soft, which means your head and neck are going to sink pretty far down into this pillow.

For me I was feeling a lot of pressure on my shoulder, not enough loft or support when I was sleeping on my side.

When I rolled on to my back, or if I moved on to my stomach, that’s really where I got the most support and the nice loft, that five inches and really sinking down was the right angle for me on my back and my stomach.

But what if you are a heavier person?

If you are a heavier back sleeper, definitely check out the TEMPUR-Pedic. Heavier side sleeper, I would look elsewhere. Heavier stomach sleeper, I would also think this is a good match for you.

    Conclusion

That’s my take on the TEMPUR-Cloud pillow.

If you’re a big fan of TEMPUR-Pedic and that soft memory foam material, you’re probably going to like this pillow, especially if you sleep on your back and stomach.

I really think that’s who it’s going to be a best fit for.

Remember you can machine wash and dry the outer cover but not the inner filling.

It is around $75, which isn’t the biggest budget buster but you cannot return it. Remember to keep that in mind.

Overall it’s a great entry point for those wanting to try a Tempur-Pedic pillow, as it is one of their cheaper options. It still offers the close conforming and pressure relief that the brand is known for.
