Purple SoftStretch Sheets Review

    Purple-SoftStretch-Sheets

Here I’m going to be talking about the Purple soft stretch sheets.

Purple is known for their purple grid mattresses. You’ve probably seen them online, but they also make a lot of other products, including these sheets.

In this review I’m going to be talking about the materials and the feel of these sheets. I’ll also go over some pros and cons as well as policies from Purple and help you decide if these could be right for you.

    Materials

    Purple-SoftStretch-Sheets

Materials are gonna be one of the most important factors when you’re picking out your sheets. They’re going to really affect the feel and performance of your sheets.

So it’s important to know what the sheets are made of.

These sheets are made with a blend. It’s a blend of rayon from bamboo viscose polyester and spandex. The material reminds me a lot of jersey sheets, if you’ve ever had those before. It feels a little bit smoother and stretchier and just a little bit more high quality.

Speaking of stretch, Purple really named these accurately. They are super stretchy. So if you like a stretchy sheet, these are going to be really great.

Purple also says that this material is going to be moisture wicking and help you sleep temperature neutral, which basically means like goldilocks style, not too hot not too cold.

But we’ll get more into that in the performance section.

When you order these sheets you’ll get a fitted sheet and flat sheet, and if you get the full, queen or king size, you’ll get two pillow cases. If you get the twin or twin XL, you’ll just get one pillow case. You can always order additional pillowcases though separately from Purple.

Finally these come in six lovely colors. I’ve got the stormy gray color. I really like it. But I also really liked a lot of the other color options that are available. They had color options like natural oat and soft lilac and morning mist. These are all very lovely colors, and honestly even the names of them are making me feel super cozy and relaxed.

    Feel

Now that we know what these sheets are made of, how does that translate into how they feel.

Honestly when I first took these out of the package and was putting them on my bed, I immediately felt they were really heavy, they definitely have a little bit of a weight to them.

That makes them really clingy and they cling around my body when I lie under them. Honestly I think this is a really super cozy vibe.

So if that’s something that you would like, I think these are going to be a good fit for you.

But I would say if you’re a combination sleeper, you might want to keep an eye out that you might get a little bit tangled as they are very clingy and weighted. As you move between positions at night you might get stuck.

But overall I would say these sheets have a really smooth feel to them.

I’m not sure I would say they’re super soft as Purple claims they are, but I definitely think they feel nice and similar to a jersey sheet but a little bit smoother.

    Performance

Let’s talk performance. In this section I want to address some of the claims that Purple made about these sheets based on my experience of actually sleeping on them.

First I want to talk about how well the sheets stay on the bed. There are very few things that are more annoying to me than when my sheet randomly pops off my mattress in the middle of the night.

Purple has come up with a great way to combat this.

They’ve included on the fitted sheet a really durable elastic band that will actually help the fitted sheets stay on the mattress throughout the night.

This is going to be really great, especially for people who toss and turn at night because that can often cause the sheet to come loose and then eventually pop off.

That really durable elastic band is really going to be helpful for keeping it on the bed.

The next claim that Purple made about these sheets is that they’re going to help with temperature regulation.

I honestly have to say I think they’re right here. I actually tested these sheets out while the AC was broken in my house and despite that I actually slept pretty comfortably with these.

I think the moisture wicking quality of these sheets are really going to be a good option for hot sleepers to stay cool.

    Pros

Let’s go over some pros and cons about the Purple soft stretch sheets. First up I’ll do the pros.

My first pro for these sheets is definitely the durable elastic band on the fitted sheet.

This is going to be a really great feature. It’s a small detail but it adds a lot of value to the sheets and it’ll really help prevent the sheets from popping off in the middle of the night, which i personally find to be super infuriating.

Next up I would say another big pro of these sheets is going to be the temperature regulating qualities. They’re really moisture wicking but they also still have a really cozy vibe. I think for hot sleepers this is going to be a really good option.

And third I would say a big pro for me was the color choices. Ii really love color and I thought the color choices that Purple has are super cute. Definitely a big pro for me there.

    Cons

Now let’s go over the cons.

For my first con, I would say that I didn’t really think these sheets were as luxuriously soft as promised.

Purple really hyped up how soft they are and I definitely don’t think they’re scratchy or uncomfortable, and I like the way they feel, but if you’re looking for that luxuriously soft vibe, I’m not really sure these hit the mark on that.

My next con would be that I think the weighted clingy feel that the top sheet had could be annoying for some people. I’m not sure everyone would like that feeling. So if you really like your sheets to be airy and light, then you might want to go with a different set of sheets.

Finally this one’s personal, but I really hate it when pillows have open style of pillowcase. It causes the pillow to slip out and I just don’t really like having the tag by my face and everything like that. So I really wish they had an envelope style closure instead of just this open end.

But that’s a personal preference, so if that doesn’t bother you, not a big deal.

    Policies

Before I finish up I want to run through some of Purple policies.

Purple offers these sheets in twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, California king and split king sizes and the prices will vary based on what size you choose.

Purple also offers free shipping on these sheets, which is always a really nice perk.

They also come with a one year warranty, which means that Purple will replace them if there’s any defects within that first year of purchase.

Finally you get 30 nights to test these sheets out at home. If you try them out and you don’t like them you can return them for a full refund within those 30 days.
