In this article I’ve got a mattress review for you about the brand new Emma ACT mattress.

ACT stands for Active cooling technology. I want to give you the lowdown so you can decide whether or not you want to go with a bed like this.

I’ll talk about everything that you need to know about this mattress. I’ll start with the policies, what this thing will come with if you do decide to order it. I’ll talk about feel, firmness, pricing. I’ll even have a final verdict.

I’ll try to answer all the questions that you may have about this bed, such as who is it best for and should you go with the Emma ACT mattress.

Let’s get right into this review.

    Policies

When you order this mattress online you’re going to receive the following policies, starting with completely free shipping. This bed will be a bed-in-a-box mattress shipped right to your house

Once it’s in your possession, you get a sleep trial of at least 100 nights and if you don’t like the bed for whatever reason, you can get free returns. The bet is backed by a 10-year warranty.

    Construction

Now let’s talk about construction of this bed. What is it made?

For support, since it is a hybrid, it uses pocketed coils.

This bed is 11 inches thick and you’ll find a little bit of support foam on the bottom, then those pocketed coils.

Next you got two layers of comfort foams and then on top of the bed is a breathable elastic cover that’s removable and washable. So if that’s something that matters to you, maybe that will move the needle.

    Feel

That’s all fine and dandy in terms of construction.

But what does this add up to give the bed in terms of feel?

I would classify it to have a firm responsive feel. This bed is pretty accommodating because it just feels like what it is, a supportive hybrid bed.

There aren’t many overwhelming feelings to this mattress, which may be good. It’s just kind of a firm neutral foam feel.

When beds have a neutral foam feel, I think that 9 out of 10 people will find it to be comfortable. It’s not going to really put anyone off at the end of the day.

    Firmness

In terms of firmness, the Emma ACT is between a medium and a medium firm on the firmness scale. Meaning it’ll work for all sleeper types, back side, stomach and combination.

Just remember that the firmness scale is subjective. So if you’re a heavier person you might find beds to be a little softer and if you’re petite you might find beds to be a little bit more firm.

Keep that in mind, but for the average sized person, it’ll be right between a medium and a medium firm on the firmness scale.

Since this is a hybrid mattress, I can confidently recommend it to all body sizes, small, medium or large.

I basically say that beds with coils provide more long-term support and durability for bigger body types.

If you’re smaller, you might like a bed with some bounce. The Emma ACT has those coils, so it’s going to provide a lot of support and responsiveness.

    Couples

Let’s talk about a couple things that couples might want to consider if you happen to be sharing the Emma ACT.

First up I’m going to touch on edge support. Edge support is how sturdy the perimeter of the mattress is.

This bed does have a border around those coils so you can’t feel the coils through the cover. Instead you can feel that foam border.

And for this bed, I would say the edge support is okay. Nothing special, not the best I’ve ever seen, but certainly not the worst either.

But that foam border will help you stay on the edge of the mattress based on my tests.

The next thing that you want to consider is motion isolation. This is basically how well the bed absorbs cross mattress movement.

For the Emma ACT hybrid, it limits motion pretty well. This means you probably won’t wake up if your partner is moving around or getting up in the middle of the night.

The last thing in this section is temperature regulation. This is how hot or cold the bed sleeps.

You might think that this bed would sleep cold since it is called the Emma Active cooling technology mattress. But I see it sleeping temperature neutral, it probably won’t cool you down at night.

It’s definitely not an active cooling bed based on my tests.

But a lot of temperature has to do with how hot you keep your room, what kind of sheets you use and what kind of ventilation you have. So keep that in mind when making your mattress decision. This bed’s just gonna sleep temperature neutral.

    Worldwide Shipping

One cool thing about Emma as a brand is that they ship to a bunch of countries and three continents in fact.

Whether you’re in the USA, some places in Europe or even India, you’ll be able to get your hands on one of these Emma ACT hybrid mattresses.

This is a pretty cool fact because I haven’t seen a lot of bed in a box mattresses that ship all over the world.

but if you happen to be in Europe or some other place, this may be a great option for you, since it’ll ship right to you.

    Price

In terms of price, this may differ depending on which country you’re in.

But in terms of the United States, a queen size Emma ACT goes for $1700 as when I’m doing this article.

But you’re going to have to check their site because mattress brands like to change their prices and their discounts all the time.

    Verdict

Those are all the main factors to consider if the Emma ACT is on your short list of beds.

But now you probably want my final verdict, who is this bed best for and who should ultimately go with this.

I couldn’t see you going wrong with this bed if you’re looking for a hybrid mattress with a firm responsive feel.

And you also might want to consider the Emma ACT if you’re ordering from another country and you want to try out a bed in a box mattress that’s shipped right to you.
